A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR ABOUT CONTRIBUTED CONTENT
River Talk Weekly has been a ‘Contributed Writer’s Newspaper’ for over 30 years, receiving contributed content from local writers and printing it, and we do have a basic standard about what we do and do not print and publish.
We have always been a ‘Good News Only’ newspaper, Thanks entirely in part to Dodi Jensen, the original and locally famous: Owner, Publisher, Editor, Graphics Designer, Office Manager, Sales Rep, Delivery Person, Office Janitor of River Talk Weekly Newspaper…She did it all! But the most important thing she did for this newspaper, was to carve this publication’s principle and mission statement into stone, that we would always be known for, a ‘Good News Only’ newspaper.
Of course, everyone has a different idea of what ‘Good News’ is. This is ours: All news can be good news if you leave out the negative as much as possible. When a devastating occurrence happens, we wouldn’t write about the bad.
Instead, we write about the good. Now, part of writing about the good, is referencing the bad, and that’s ok. Because it’s a story, or notification, of something that’s good, positive, encouraging, supportive and even just possibly - enlightening.
NOTE: We receive content and reformat the content, by a first come first served basis. We do not promise or guarantee any turn-around time for the reformatting. Nor does submitting content ensure that it will be printed. Content that will NOT be printed, include these narratives: Complaining about a person. Complaining about a business/organization. ‘Any Complaining’ in general. Hate or Discrimination (of any kind).
